DIY Leather Cardholder

Happy Humpday, Readers! Today marks the end of our first #MOGBLOG Giveaway! If you didn't win, but still wanna get your hands on that leather cardholder - its still your lucky day! (Kinda.) Read below for how to DIY one of your very own!

DIY Leather Cardholder

You'll Need:
A small piece of leather
A ruler
A piece of paper
A sharp pair of scissors
A Krazy Glue Pen

Start by making your pattern on a piece of paper. Its sort of a diamond shape, with its points extending from a central rectangle that measures 2.5 x 4 inches. (the best thing about this envelope shape is that you can make it whatever size you want - if you want a more substantial sized wallet, or even an oversized clutch, you can just scale it up to that size!)

Next, use a pencil to trace it onto the sueded side of your leather (or what is going to be the inside of your wallet) and then cut it out.

Once it is cut - depending on the thickness of your leather - you may want to use your ruler to help crease the leather, pre-folding it so its easier to work with when you bond it in the next step.

Now: the bonding. Fold your side panels in first, using a bit of krazy glue, and press them together for about a minute. Follow that by folding your bottom panel up and bonding one side at a time. Once it is all assembled, I like to give it a good clamp (If you happen to have binder clips, they would be perfect for this.)

And thats all there is to it - in less than 15 minutes, you can make yourself a cool kid leather cardholder that's totally unique. Bonus, when you get complimented on it, #humblebrag like its your job!

I'd love to hear how this works out for you, so let me know in the comments below. And also, I'm happy to answer any questions you may have there. Looking forward to it! x

Behind the Scenes: Studio Day

Hey Everyone! Busy day here in the #MOGBLOG studio today. I wanted to share with you a behind-the-scenes look at what I've been doing with the materials I shopped last weekI can't show you everything just yet, but what I can show you is this - a lot of sketching, a lot of draping, a lot of thinking. (If you smell burning, that's just my brain...its doing overtime at the moment.)

Shopping Day

Yesterday, a good friend of mine and I had the opportunity to go shopping for an upcoming project we're collaborating on. I can't say too much yet, but when I can - you'll be the first to know! But what I can tell you is, we got some really great finds. It was fun to take him out and explore the local fabric stores together, especially because it was his first time.

I know it can be overwhelming, but sometimes there's nothing better than really digging through the aisles at the fabric store - particularly when you're in need of a little inspiration. There's just so much to choose from, and you might be surprised what will catch your eye.

Check below for my outfit details (and where to shop them!) And don't forget to enter for our #MOGBLOG Giveaway!
